LadyBug is a very lucky little lady.
In March of 1991, my then-boyfriend woke me up in the middle of the night to tell me of a cat he'd discovered on the side of the road that had been hit by a car. The poor little thing had sustained a severe head injury and yowled in pain whenever she was picked up or handled. The left side of her head had a massive wound and her left eye was so swollen, it looked like it might come out of the socket. It didn't appear she would live through the night. We fixed a bed for her in the bathtub so at least she'd have a warm place to die.
I was afraid to check on her the next morning for fear of what I might find. I peered around the corner of the shower curtain into the tub. Much to my surprise, there was this one big eye peering back at me! She had somehow made it through the night! We promptly named her "Speed Bump". Within weeks, she'd nearly made a full recovery. She did lose the sight in her left eye, however. Other than that, she was a normal healthy young kitty!
A year later, I moved back in with my parents and brought Speed with me. She took to the indoor/outdoor lifestyle and especially liked capturing insects. So much so, that my dad renamed her "LadyBug". LadyBug loves to bring offerings of moths, birds, crickets, snakes, and any other critter she can catch. Even with only one eye, she is quite the huntress!
Of course, she is a cat of many talents. As illustrated by her pictures, she loves to drink water straight out of the faucet! She is a wonderful miracle kitty.
